Beautiful and brilliant, eighteen-year-old Genesis Weatherby lives a charmed life as the clone of a long-dead silent film star. She is loved by her close-knit family as well as her two best friends, and being a clone isn’t so bad when everyone in the world is one too. Thanks to an organization known as GOD, there have been no Original births in one hundred and thirty years. In a successful attempt to eradicate cancer, GOD has taken control of human procreation, and only the human copies that are proven to be free of the once devastating disease are allowed to thrive. Genny never questions anything about her world, until she meets handsome and mysterious Nat Wilkinson. Now, she is forced to make choices that can alter the course of her life, as well as the lives of everyone on the planet.

The Cure Tania Hagan Books

That person who gave this story a 1 star is hilarious. For one, this book is not a gay romance ‘Broke Back Mountain’ novel, two, it’s not about ‘Christian religion’ either. Just because it has the abbreviation GOD in it and is called 'The Cure' with heavenly lights in the background of the front cover, don’t expect it to be some religious inspired novel. That guy who clearly gave it a 1 star must of thought exactly that, and once he came to the part of the book with Genny’s gay best friend Sigby, who is just a normal gay person by the way -which is of course fully accepted in society with set in 2150- he got all homophobic. The only gay part about this story is one simple very comical character who makes the story that so much better, it's the opposite of gay because the story is based around Genny and Nat's relationship. I loved this story. Very accurate futuristic portrayal and an intelligent read. The dialogue between the complex characters is hilarious and it’s pretty funny how the organization who controls the cloning is called GOD so the word GOD is constantly thrown in there, a cool play on words. The main character falls head over heals for this hunk called Nat, and the story begins from there. Excellent and I highly recommend it!

The Cure Tania Hagan Books Reviews

I don't normally wright reviews, but I thought I should with this book. I have to admit, it's not the absolutely most gripping book I have ever read, but it definitely did not have trouble keeping my interest.

I finished the book about a week ago, and I find myself missing the characters, so I went looking to see if there is a sequel, only to find out that this is the author's first novel!

I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the sequel. I have a feeling Genny and Nat's story isn't finished quite yet.
Oh my gosh, I loved this book. I just could not put it down. Ms. Hagan does a fantastic job telling a story that could very well be in our future. The characters were described perfectly , so well that I had their faces in my head as I read. Needless to say I plowed thru this book and looking toward to a sequel. Give it a try. You will love it.
A unique story that introduces us to a world in which basically everyone is a clone. Do science and politics have what's best for the human race in their agenda or is something more sinister at play. Watching our two teenaged main characters make rash, passionate decisions that will impact not just their lives, but the lives of all those around them, yeilds an exciting, thriller of a read.
The Cure is easy to read and hard to put down. This novel includes science fiction, dystopia, and romance. The characters are vividly described and easy to vision in you mind as you read. The theme is easy to picture for the future. I truly cannot wait for the sequel for this book. Maybe even a prequel would be possible. A definite hit!
This book. I'm not sure what all to say about it besides the fact that it was such a refreshing idea in Dystopian fiction that I was too eager to pick it up. Then I couldn't put it down. As an author within this same genre, I am always pleased to read another book out there that can make my heart hammer like a good Dystopian novel. This book does show a very vivid and terrifying picture of the 'legacy' humanity may leave behind...showing that we are indeed the monsters. Great work, Tania, and I look forward to watching your career grow.
Many dystopian books out there can get a bit cookie-cutter and a little boring for my taste, but the author did a great job of making something ordinary, extraordinary. GOD (Genetics Operations Division) has found a way to cure cancer - They have eliminated it by creating clones from cancer-free DNA. Everyone is a clone, including the main character, Genny (Genesis). This original take on the genre gives me hope in indie authors like Tania Hagan. She has created an environment that is purely believable though it's fiction, and gives us great characters like Genny and Nat that we don't often see in your typical teen culture. The cloning aspect of the story is what really drove me to read this book. Some parts reminded me of Orphan Black. I love that the story is told to the reader from Genny's perspective, something that can be very difficult without making the character stagnant. Oh, and my favorite character is Sigby, a gay friend of Genny that gives the story some comedic relief. Not going to spoil the story with any details. Read it for yourself.
Hagan's use of imagery is beautiful, and it blends well into the suspense that surrounds story. There's just enough plot twists that moves the story along and keep you on your heels. An intriguing sci-fi thriller with just a bit of romance that will appeal to almost all ages. Can't wait to read more from this author. Five glowing stars for this debut novel.
A new and different look into the future.

In order to eradicate diseases and the cancer epidemic, G.O.D. has initiated cloning instead of procreating naturally. The author choose this oxymoron which translates to Genetics Operating Division. (When people decide to play 'GOD' an inhumane society is born)

The main characters of Genesis and boyfriend Nat are typical teenagers that question the past and present state of affairs and the cloning process. Seeking the truth about the disappearance of a few of their friends, which might have illegally procreated the story escalates.

The G.O.D has means of persecution and wiping out illegal pregnancies and the people who created them.

I never give spoilers. But, tension builds as Genesis and Nat demonstrate their unwillingness to conform and things go awry.
